Terms and Privacy

Terms and Conditions

Effective: 1 July 2026

1. About Kroku

Kroku is a personal and group budgeting app that lets you track wallets, transactions, budgets, goals and planned payments. By creating an account or using the app on any platform (web, iOS, Android or desktop) you agree to these terms.

2. Your account

You need a valid email address to register. You are responsible for keeping your credentials and device PIN safe, and for everything that happens under your account. One person, one account.

3. Free plan and Premium

The free plan includes the core features with modest limits and no time limit. Premium is a paid subscription at €4.99 per month or €39.99 per year, billed securely through Stripe. New accounts get 14 days of Premium free, with no card required. You can cancel at any time and Premium stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Fees are not refunded for partial periods unless the law requires it.

4. Acceptable use

Please don't abuse the service. That means no attempts to break, overload or reverse-engineer it, no unlawful content, and no using the group features to harass anyone. We may suspend accounts that break these rules.

5. Your content

The financial data, receipts and notes you add belong to you. You give us permission to store and process them purely to run the service. We never sell your data. You can export it and delete your account whenever you like.

6. Not financial advice

Kroku performs calculations on the data you enter, including simulations and forecasts. These are informational tools, not financial, investment or tax advice. Exchange rates are indicative and may differ from your bank's.

7. Liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect damages or losses arising from decisions made using the app's figures. Nothing here limits the rights you have as a consumer under EU and Lithuanian law.

8. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the service evolves, and we'll announce significant changes in the app. Questions are welcome at the address below.

Privacy Policy

Effective: 1 July 2026

1. Who we are

Kroku is built and operated from Lithuania. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have under the GDPR. You can reach the data controller at the address below.

2. What we collect

Your email address and profile settings, the entries you create (wallets, transactions, budgets, goals, receipts), group membership and contributions, and basic technical data such as device type, language and app version, which we need to run and improve the service. We do not connect to your bank accounts and we never ask for banking credentials.

3. How we use it

Only to provide the service: syncing your data across your devices, showing your budgets and reports, sending the notifications you opted into, and processing Premium payments. We never sell personal data and we don't show ads.

4. Where it lives

Your data is stored with Supabase, a managed PostgreSQL service hosted in the European Union, protected by row-level security so each account can only reach its own rows. Payments are handled by Stripe, and we never see or store your card number. Offline data is cached on your own device.

5. Notifications

Push notifications, including budget alerts, payment reminders, weekly reports and group activity, are strictly opt-in and can be switched off per type at any time in the app's settings.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can access, correct, export or erase your data, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Most of this is available directly in the app. For anything else, email us and we'll respond within 30 days. You may also complain to the Lithuanian State Data Protection Inspectorate (VDAI).

7. Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. Deleting your account permanently removes your personal data and financial entries. Anonymised group contributions may remain visible to the other members of that group, and billing records are kept for as long as accounting law requires.

8. Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
